AFRC Announces the Retirement of CEO Mr Marek Grabowski

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council ( AFRC ) today announced that its Chief Executive Officer Mr Marek Grabowski will be retiring from the AFRC on the expiry of his current three-year term on 11 October 2023. The Government today announced the commencement of a recruitment exercise to identify a successor.

Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the AFRC, said, “On behalf of the AFRC, I would like to express our gratitude to Mr Grabowski for his service and devotion to the AFRC. During his tenure, he oversaw the transformation of AFRC into Hong Kong’s independent regulator not only of listed entity auditors but also of the accounting profession. It has been a momentous period for the AFRC during which it has grown from strength to strength.’’

The AFRC wishes Mr Grabowski every success in his future endeavours.
