14 October 2025

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council ( AFRC ) will host the Regional Regulatory Forum (RRF) 2025 on 10 November 2025. Building on last year’s inaugural event, RRF 2025 is expected to gather around 400 local and international guests, including government officials, financial regulators, audit firms, accounting practitioners, governance experts, business leaders and academics.
This year’s forum, themed “Accounting for the Future” , will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping accounting and auditing. Panel discussions on governance, audit quality, artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainability assurance will examine the shifting regulatory, environmental, and technological demands. The forum provides a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and best practices pertinent to the profession and its stakeholders, while underscoring a shared commitment to upholding integrity and excellence in financial reporting.
Ms Janey Lai, Chief Executive Officer of the AFRC, said, “As technology and global trends evolve, the accounting profession must adapt while maintaining its core values. This forum showcases how the profession is evolving to seize new opportunities to foster a resilient and sustainable future.”
Dr David Sun, Chairman of the AFRC, noted, “Hosting the RRF in Hong Kong once again highlights the city’s pivotal role as a vibrant international financial centre and a leader in regulatory excellence. Through this forum, we bring together distinguished experts from Hong Kong and around the globe, reinforcing Hong Kong’s commitment to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and advancement of the accounting profession.”
