AFRC welcomes the Government’s appointment and reappointment of Non-Executive Directors

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council ( AFRC ) welcomes the Government’s appointment of three Non-Executive Directors ( NED s) and the re-appointment of a NED for a term of 2 years from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2026.

Ms Janey Lai, CEO of the AFRC, said, “The Management would like to extend our warmest welcome to the three new NEDs, Mr Johnny Chan Kok-chung, Ms Deborah Leung Woon-kan and Professor Phyllis Mo Lai-lan and the reappointment of Mr Keith Lui Kei-kwong as a NED. We appreciate the valuable guidance and counsel from the Board in facilitating the AFRC to fulfil its dual role as both an independent regulator and a promoter of the accounting profession. I look forward to working closely with the Board to ensure we carry out our responsibilities efficiently and effectively.”

Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the AFRC added, “I would like to warmly welcome the three new Board Members and the re-appointment of Mr Keith Lui.
