AFRC welcomes the Government’s appointment of the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the AFRC

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council ( AFRC ) welcomes the Chief Executive’s appointment of Ms Lai Chui-pik Janey as the Chief Executive Officer (the CEO ) and Executive Director of the AFRC for a term of three years from 9 April 2024 to 8 April 2027.

Ms Lai is a seasoned accountant with rich experience in both the local and Mainland accounting professions and international regulatory and compliance landscape. Wellversed with the development needs of the sector at the same time, Ms Lai is committed to promoting the accounting and audit quality in Hong Kong while supporting the development of the profession.

Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the AFRC remarked, “On behalf of the Board, I warmly welcome Ms Lai Chui Pik Janey to this important position and look forward to working closely with her in the next three years. I am confident that her dual experience in both the accounting profession and talent development will help orchestrate the effective functioning of the AFRC and promote a long-term healthy development of the accounting profession.”.
