FRC Announces Appointment of Honorary Advisers

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) announces the appointment of Dr Christine Chow and Mr Stephen P S Weatherseed as Honorary Advisers for a term of two years from 15 April 2021 to 14 April 2023.

 

Dr Christine Chow is an Executive Director and Global Head of Strategic Governance Advisory and ESG Integration for IHS Markit. Prior to this, she was a Director at Federated Hermes as the Global Lead of Technology and Head of Asia and Global Emerging Markets Stewardship, and Chair of the SDG Fixed Income Committee. She is a Member of Court of Governors and Investment Committee of the London School of Economics and a Board Member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), an investor-led organisation with US$ 53 trillion assets under management. She was a member of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial – Intelligence and Data Governance (2018 2021), Adjunct Associate Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Member of the – Greater China Committee of the Hong Kong Retirement Funds Association (2014 2016).

 

Mr Stephen Weatherseed is Practising Director of Mazars and was the Managing Partner from 2012 to 2020. He is a Council Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and an Independent Board Member of the English Schools Foundation. He was previously the Deputy Chairman of the Professional Conduct Committee and a member of the Examinations Board and of the Continuing Professional Education Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Their wealth of experience respectively in investment management, with expertise in strategic governance, sustainability and impact investment, and in accounting and auditing, with expertise in providing forensic support in litigation and other disputes, will bring diverse perspectives and valuable advice to the FRC in dealing with regulatory and other matters for the benefit of public interest.”
